The Catawba River Artisans will host its second annual Pet Project to benefit for the Animal League of Gaston County 9 a.m.-3 p.m. May 19 inside and outside of City Café and Gallery, 128 S. Main St., Mount Holly.

The event features sales of arts, crafts and pet products; a pet adoption booth and an auction of art by local artists. Bring in a bag of pet food or make a donation to the Animal League to register for prizes.

Last year, the group collected nearly $1,000 and 250 pounds of pet food for the group, and found homes for one kitten and two dogs. The Animal League is a nonprofit organization that provides low cost spay and neuter services at their clinic at 972 E. Franklin Blvd. in Gastonia. They also work with Animal Control to rescue and find homes for animals in danger of euthanasia. For a spay or neuter appointment, call 704-868-4673.
